Thomas Wood Home (1840)
Located ten miles southeast of Washington off Highway 100, it is a large two-story
frame with a brick foundation. Eight brick columns supported a large back porch extending
the length of the house. It had five fireplaces. A modern kitchen, added to east end in
1946, was the only change in it's first century. The twin chimneys
can be seen from the junction of Highway 100 and Highway V when coming
from Washington.
